Simply put, Super Ape is a band of producers.
 
Featuring members of two other bands / Bullship (Electric Mountain) & Dirty Drummer (Ropeadope), originally pulled together by Scott Slagle (Asylum Digital Recording Studios) to back a vocalist on some session work & various live dates. Each of us being long-time friends & having worked together on various projects in the past, it was an easy decision to continue working together after that project was complete. Dirty said it best, “It’s been like a musicians wet dream…” – The 5 of us just clicked & Super Ape was born.
 
Through live instrumention & sample programming, Super Ape recklessly combines elements of sound from dub to jazz to rock, creating exciting soundscapes that successfully blend genres & have helped to gain fans around the world.
 
We have just completed our new 7″ single “Ape Shit” / “Peoples in the Mist”.
 
“Ape Shit / “Peoples In the Mist” will be released digitally & on limited 7″ vinyl thru Electric Mountain. This release draws inspiration from our wide range of musical influences (using both samples & live instrumentation) tied together by aggressive production. Super Ape is currently promoting this (& upcoming) limited edition 7″ releases with strategic live dates.
 
We are also currently compiling a set of remixes for release and Scott is working on an EP w/ DJ Vadim & Preach Jacobs (BBE). Dirty Drummer just finished the “Chase the Barber EP” for a February release (Ropeadope).
