One of
Chicago’s most exciting new bands, On The Run, has steadily
developed a loyal fan base that can best be described as rabid.
Packing venues up and down the east coast and of course in their
hometown, the band seamlessly blends genres and touches audiences of
all age groups and walks of life. A combination of skilled
songwriting and a stage show that you will not soon forget, has
earned On the Run invitations to play at some of the nations most
esteemed venues including Chicago's "The Metro" and NYC's "Webster
Hall" among many others.
Their sound can best be described as a unique blend of soulful
vocals, thoughtful, attention grabbing guitar riffs complimented
with a tight, pocket oriented rhythm section - all accented by the
group’s saxophonist. This volatile combination, combined with On the
Run's attention to detail and dynamics makes for danceable, yet all
the while emotional music. On The Run has been recognized for
unabashedly tackling difficult subjects and feel good music alike to
reflect the whole range of human emotion.
Rock, Roots, Reggae, Blues; the band does them all a service without
overplaying any one genre. They are in some respects a jam band, but
know how to employ song structure and refuse to let lyrical content
fall by the wayside. Ultimately, it seems that On the Run has taken
the stylistics and musicality that have worked for many of the
greats in the past; and have made it their own. The result is a
sound that is new and refreshing, yet nostalgic at the same time.

Of Good Nature is an extremely talented and fast upcoming trio,
reigning from Charlotte, NC. Their original music, due to its
variety, is difficult to pin into one genre. The sound is generally
described as Rock/Reggae/Funk, with bursts of instrumental jam
sessions that constantly demand their audiences’ attention.
The group’s unique, tight, yet full sound derives from its
creatively driven members. OGN consists of Cameron Brown (lead
vocals/guitar), Joey Vachon (backup vocals/drums), and Chris Andrews
(bass). The band’s original songs display a range of
emotions, anywhere from high-energy and upbeat to a mellow groove
you can chill to. Either way, OGN yields a reggae vibe, a
catchy melody, and a funky bass-line that will force you to dance.
The three musicians got their start in the entertainment world at a
young age. As teenagers they would play small sets at
restaurants and bars in Charlotte, NC and Charleston, SC under the
name, Just Add Water.
It was early in 2011 when music became the bands number one
priority. The three relocated back to their hometown of
Charlotte, NC and dubbed themselves Of Good Nature. In a short
amount of time OGN has reached as far as our nation’s capital,
Washington D.C. and has gained sizeable followings in Charlotte,
Boone, and Charleston. The Trio has just finished recording their
first album, and its release is expected in the very near future.
Of Good Nature is jammin’ out regularly on the east coast so don’t
miss the next show!

Colby Dobbs Band has put together an inspired, original mix of
jazz-influenced pop songs that can bring listeners grooving to the
dance floor at one minute, and soften the mood the next. Reminiscent
of the classic 70's jazz-rock groups such as Steely Dan and the
Doobie Brothers, and infused with the pop sensibility of current
groups like Jamiroquai and Maroon 5, the CDB has arrived with a
refreshi...ng style and sound. It's real music, made by real people
playing real instruments!
Formed by keyboardist/lead singer Colby Dobbs, the group features a
lineup of veteran Queen City musicians including: Dan Lawlor
(drums), David J. Sentendrey (bass) and Matt Sztyber (guitar). CDB
is currently wrapping up their first full-length album, set to debut
SOON!
"I'm going to stop here and say that this is one of the best local
bands in Charlotte."
-Stan Cocheo, Live Limelight (Oct. 13, 2011)
"Wow! That is my initial gut reaction to my experience of a live
show by Colby Dobbs Band...It is obvious that this group is serious
about what they do and their goal is creating amazing music that
will appeal to a lot of people."
- Stephen Coombs, Live Limelight (June 29, 2011)
"All and all, The Colby Dobbs Band is a well-rounded group with
depth that takes them a step further than many groups that do “the
funk thing”. No stand out rock stars or crazy antics. Mostly
authentic vintage mood and good songwriting."
