THE LOOSE LUGNUTS
The Loose Lugnuts have done perhaps more than anyone in recent years to keep old-school Country and Western alive and happening on the Charlotte music scene. Led by brothers Mark and Brian Wilson, the Lugnuts have an amazing repertoire of C&W classics spanning the genre’s golden era, “from Hank Sr. to Hank Jr.” as singer Mark Wilson has been known to say, which is to imply: strictly “pre-commercial” C&W. And, as they prove on their 2010 vinyl/digital release “Half Tight”, the band also boasts a strong original catalog, and lays it down with greater authority and confidence than the title might suggest.
BILL NOONAN BAND
Bill Noonan has been exploring the border of country and rock and roll on the Charlotte scene since the early 1980s, appearing regularly at the Double Door in various incarnations over the years, most notably with the Rank Outsiders in the 1990s and early ‘00s. On this show, Noonan will introduce his new band line-up with a greatest-hits set of original tunes from the Rank era to his more recent solo albums, and get out on the limb with a few trademark rocking covers.
The Pintos play songs by John Doe, Tom Waits, Burl Ives, Jeff Tweedy, and Alejandro Escovedo, as well as originals by guitarist/singer Chris Edwards.
Singer/songwriter located in Charlotte, NC. His music is a unique blend of folk, country, and bluegrass & his shows are a damn good time!
