RADIO LOLA
RADIO LOLA
Quickly brought together, the members of Radio Lola found a common vision and passion for bringing a new take to the fundamentals of music today, old soul made FRESH! Radio Lola splurges on anything from rowdy Americana/Blues to sensual Soul.
THE MENDERS
THE MENDERS
Formed in 2011, The Menders began as a trio featuring Jonny Boswell, Jesse Watson, and Shawn Sutton. The group blended influences, such as Doc Watson and The Beatles, into a bare bones and honest acoustic sound that began to get attention in their hometown of Gastonia, NC. After some refreshing and organic jam sessions with friend and drummer Matt Dixon, The Menders added their 4th member. The group's sound matured and developed as they started playing shows in the Charlotte area at venues such as the Milestone, Snug Harbor, and Thomas Street Tavern. Following some personal challenges, The Menders welcomed their friend Wes Forbus on guitar into the group in 2013. With the new lineup, the Menders began combining more garage rock influences into their established folk-rock sound along with the lyrical inspiration derived from the complications of life and the darkness therein, creating a musical experience sure to leave a lasting impression.
THE PENITENTIALS
THE PENITENTIALS
PARTY BATTLESHIP
Party Battleship is 100 years old. Collectively, that is.

The seasoned foursome’s combined playing and recording experiences do add up to that. We have all been at it since our teens or twenties, and are now all in our forties. We’d like to think we are the coolest middle-aged band in Charlotte.

Together, we make a sound devoted to elements of rock, new wave, punk, and post-punk, big on guitars, melody, and harmony. Experience here translates into force: our songs describe the coordinates of idiosyncratic lives and emotional perspectives, nested within a powerful, 100% rock-and-roll framework.
