The addition of new members to the band in 2014 helped solidify the big instrumental sound they are known for today and resulted in their debut album Foundation, along with regional tours up and down the East Coast. During this period of time, Elephant Convoy shared the stage with acts such as Collie Buddz, The Expendables, The Wailers, The Movement, Through The Roots & more. Venue highlights for the Convoy include playing at the coveted Irie Vibes Music Festival in Long Creek, South Carolina and the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach.
The band’s lineup currently consists of Javier Rodriguez (Vocals/Rhythm Guitar), Daniel Rodriguez (Drums), Graham Rattray (Bass), Michael Eakins (Vocals/Lead Guitar), and Patrick Mosca (Keys). The band is currently working with prized producer Joel Aloise from Zion Within Productions and the award-wining studio Hourglass Studios on their second album that is due for release Summer ’17.
While the band’s biggest influence remains the roots reggae genre that derived from Jamaica decades earlier, they also draw inspiration from the dancehall, electronic, and hip hop genres to create their authentically modern reggae sound.
As a diverse group of individuals, the band’s vision has always been to use music to create and preserve oneness between people from all walks of life. Their coastal attitude and socially conscious mindset show in their music through their use of heavy bass, driving melodies, and thought-provoking lyrics. There’s nothing stopping this band from spreading their music and message to reggae music community and beyond.
Since forming in the spring of 2014 this 3 piece sound (Tyler Vickery- vox/guitar, Kody Farris- Drums, and Clifton Bundick- Bass) hailing from Charlotte, North Carolina has been making big noise. From lighting up the forest at the Irie Vibes Music Festival to rocking the stage at a Sold Out show on New Years Eve with Sun-Dried Vibes.
Early 2016 Lovely Budz hosted and headlined the first annual Budz Bash in celebration of the release of their brand new EP ' The Sound'.
The Lovely Budz played 200+ shows across the Southeast in their 2 years as a band. Appearing in South Caroina, North Carolina, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee.
